2024 Designer Showhome with Denver Life Magazine

Tharp was honored to provide custom cabinetry for the the 2024 Denver Life Magazine Designer Showhouse project.

The aesthetic of the home has a sense of warmth and calm that comes from the use of natural color tones and textures. The cabinetry design compliments this aesthetic by using clean lines and lighter neutral finishes. Sometimes modern design can come across as cold or sterile but this home combines materials that lend themselves to being comfortable and approachable.

The primary cabinet selection for the home is Rift Sawn White Oak in our White Wash finish. The home was designed with large windows so visitors can really appreciate the surrounding trees and natural light. The use of lighter finishes keeps the spaces feeling bright. Rift Sawn White Oak has been especially popular over the past few years as our clients appreciate the simple linear grain patterns that help to bring a natural appearance to modern designs.

Outside of the primary spaces, we utilized an engineered panel product called StevensWood, again in mostly lighter colors. This product offers a sleek and modern appearance with high durability. It also has the advantage of being an environmentally sustainable product with a core made of recycled materials.

The focal points of the kitchen are a large island with seating for family to gather and a wood range hood with floating shelves flanking it on each side. The shelves help keep the space feeling light and open. Functional features include a trash and recycling pull-out, spice pull-out, and roll-out trays. Wood paneled appliances integrate seamlessly into the design. Elevated vanities also give a sense of space and light.
